Oh, Flash

This girl may be cute, but my word is she ever embarrassing! I don't know if I'll ever take her out in public again!

Last week, a friend of mine from Indy asked if I'd be willing to do a home visit for a future DRNA foster that lived here in town. Of course I was more than willing to help so I contacted the couple and set up a time to meet them. My friend requested I take along one of the droopy hounds so I chose Flash. I knew they had two dogs and I don't trust Ollie around new dogs, especially on his leash. Flash is my good girl and loves everyone she meets so I thought she'd be great! She was great...just extremely embarrassing!

After I got home last night, I rounded up Flash and set out to meet this potential foster family. She got along great with their two dogs so I let her off her leash. She immediately finds their food dish and helps herself to some food. Of course, she'd already eaten dinner but that didn't seem to phase her. Not 10 minutes later, she got out of my sight and proceeded to go #2. This dog NEVER goes in the house unless she is sick. I don't knowwhat her deal was but I was so embarrassed. It didn't phase the family at all thankfully and they responded probably exactly how I would've had I been in the same situation. I just couldn't believe my "good" dog betrayed me! I'd expect that from Ollie but not Flash!

All in all, we had a great visit and the family is approved to become a foster family for some sweet doxies at some point. But, if I do this again, I think I'll just leave the dogs at home.

Oh, they always find a way to embarrass us. Maybe that's how girl dogs mark?

Maybe she just new to test out the family and make sure they could handle such things when they have fosters!

BOL oh no!! I cant believe that sweet girl did that :)

I was in a situation sort of like that and I took Fred with me.. same reason, reliable and well behaved around other dogs. He was off leash walking around with the other dogs and hiked his leg and peed on the comforter in the master bedroom... I was MORTIFIED he doesnt even lift his leg on walks to pee.

:)
