Coasting and Cheese!

Back to documenting our trip after a two day hiatus...

On Saturday, we all got up early and headed to the coast. It was about a 2 hour drive and we stopped just over halfway and had breakfast at Camp 18...soo good!

The coast was breath taking! I've been on the California coast and I was amazed at how different it looks in Oregon. It's just as beautiful though! I could have stood there all day!
After making a couple of stops at different turnouts, we parked in a small town called Manzanita...loved it! Lots of cute little shops, restaurants and coffee shops. I couldn't spent a lot more time there but I wasn't in charge! :)
**We fell in love with the dog in the picture above. We stood and watched him play fetch for at least 20 minutes. He was in absolute heaven and probably could have played fetch all day. It was really neat to watch him with his human. So cute!**

After Manzanita, we drove about an hour and stopped at Tillamook, a cheese and ice cream factory. We watched some cheese being made, sampled various cheeses and purchased some amazing ice cream. Best chocolate peanut butter ice cream I've ever had! I'm ready to go back again!

To finish out the trip, we stopped for dinner at Jake's Grill in downtown Portland. We were all worn out by the time we got home! Phew, what a day!

I love Manzanita!! We once spent a week there, renting an adorable house nestled in the cliffs, with a jacuzzi on the deck. It was awesome. Did you get to go out to the haystack rocks?
