On Friday, we got up way too early and headed about 45 minutes south to play golf. (I played one round of golf last year, which is not good for me. So, I wasn't really looking forward to this round because I knew I'd be bad.) We played at OGA and thankfully it was free. (D is the president of the NAIA Women's Golf Coaches Association and as a favor to the coach at Concordia University in OR, he checked out the course for possibly hosting the 2013 NAIA Golf Nationals. And, we don't turn down free golf!) I survived the front nine, then just hung out and watched while he and Danae played the back. It just wasn't worth my frustrations!
After the golf, we headed another hour and a half south down to Eugene so we could check out the University of Oregon's campus. For some reason in the past year or so, D has become a big Ducks fan. I don't know that he can really explain why, but now we're both kind of hooked. So, we were pretty excited to see their campus and buy some Oregon gear. Our first stop was the football stadium...

We couldn't get into the stadium, but it was still pretty impressive when walking around it. Oregon has some unbelieveable athletic facilities thanks to their sponsorship from Nike.
After making the loop around the stadium, we headed over the famous Hayward Field, where the Track & Field team competes. Track & Field is serious busines at Oregon. There happened to be an NCAA Preliminaries Meet going on so we couldn't go into the stadium, but it was still pretty impressive.
We followed up our tour with a trip to the bookstore so we could purchase some Oregon attire and of course made a Starbucks stop. We drove by the new basketball arena, then started the trek back to Portland. We had to make a stop on our way back though...the best outlet mall I've ever been to! Apparently, I haven't been shopping in awhile since I was a shopping fanatic during this trip. I found some sweet $20 shoes at Adidas, along with a super cheap spring coat. Then I was beyond excited about the White House Black Market outlet! I love their jeans and was able to get a pair at a reasonable price. Woo hoo!!
Dinner consisted of a quick stop at Five Guys for a good burger and fries. When we got back to Danae's house, her mom had her knitting friends over. D didn't spend much time with them, but I hung out for awhile and they were hilarious! They had me laughing non-stop!
All in all, a great day!
