So it begins

We left super, super early last Thursday morning so we could catch our flight out of Chicago. We headed to Portland, OR to see the DaNanny. During Danae's last year of school at BC, she played one semester of golf for D and spent numerous hours with the Dynamic Duo. She saved us tons of money and the Duo loved her! We decided it was time to visit her side of the country so off we went.

The main event for Thursday...

Danae's mom has a friend who works at Nike and was able to get us "Friends & Family" passes to the store. In all honesty, we were somewhat disappointed. There weren't quite as many deals as we had hoped or envisioned. Items were typically 50%, which is great, but since Nike is expensive to begin with, we didn't get any steals. No complaints though...I still walked out with a new pair of shoes!

We also visited Nike Headquarters in Beaverton, which was also somewhat disappointing. They had some cool things in the various buildings, but it wasn't very exciting. People weren't very friendly and we were nicely informed that the athletes didn't work there. Really? Thanks Captain Obvious! While D was asking an employee a couple questions, he mentioned he thought he'd see Michael Jordan. That's when he was rudely told that the atheletes didn't work there. Wow, we were shocked! We thought for sure since they all had parking spaces that they actually worked there. What an idiot!

Day 1 wrapped up with dinner at Bajio's...yum and a lesson in gun safety, which was to be used at a later day in the trip!

I cannot wait to hear more about your trip. Sounds like you had a fun (mostly) start. :)
