About 18 months ago, my bff E and I thought it would be fun to go to a U2 concert since our guys love the band. We bought our tickets and anxiously awaited the concert in July. Lo and behold, Bono had to have emergency back surgery so our show was postponed until this July. Talk about waiting forever for a great concert! Finally, the day arrived! E and her hubby S had to take family to the airport in Chicago early Tuesday morning so D and I decided to take the train and meet them. It was our first time taking the train and what a piece of cake! It was so nice to relax and not have to worry about traffic or parking. We met up with E & S at the Field Museum, walked to a Giordano's for dinner then headed to Soldier Field for the big event.
When we orignially purchased our tickets, the concert was only a couple of months away so there weren't a lot of seats to choose from. We ended up in Section 428, Row 17...super far up. But, at Soldier Field, I don't think there is a bad seat. We had a great view of the amazing stage and the city skyline.
It was a perfect evening for a summer concert. D was convinced at first that it wouldn't be a packed house, but if you scroll down a few, you'll see how packed it was. There were close to 70,000 people in attendance. Crazy!
The entire concert was unbelievable! The stage was amazing, the sound was awesome and the effects were ridiculous. We had such a great time!
