It is official. I'm flying solo for the next couple months. D left yesterday for Florida and is still driving! He made it to the ATL area last night and should make it to Boca Raton by 8pm or so today. Hopefully Hurricane Irene doesn't get in his way!
In some ways, I really don't feel like he's gone. I'm so used to him being gone for a few days during the fall that it seems normal. Yesterday, I left for work before he had packed up the car so it seemed like any typical day in our house. No emotions for me yet but I'm sure after a few days it'll become more real. I did gain about 3 dresser drawers and another closet through all this. Guess I should do some more shopping!
In all honesty, I think the most difficult part of this all will be handling the Dynamic Duo. With being in volleyball season, I don't get home until after 7pm each night and leave the house at 7:30. That's a lot of days and money at Camp K9! Plus, on game days, I gotta find somebody to pick them up and take them home! Geesh, being a single parent is going to be tough!
What's funny is that I'll see D next weekend. We're a part of a wedding in St. Louis then have another wedding in Indy for a former golfer. Then, I'll head down there at the end of September for a couple days. So, I know there will be some long stretches but somehow we'll manage!
I'm extremely thankful for my friends, who I know will keep me busy! I'd be lost without a couple of my girlfriends!
