Warning...lots of pictures! :)
Friday, October 28, this guy was delivered to our house! Once it arrived, the move seemed extremely real. Saturday morning, my parents and our wonderful friends loaded up the truck. With all of our great help, it went pretty fast and we were able to get the house cleaned for the new tenants. Within 30 minutes of having the truck loaded, our friends arrived with their U-Haul. We all helped unload their truck before lunch. When it was all said and done, we moved out of our house, cleaned and moved our friends in to the house in under 4 hours. Talk about teamwork!! The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with friends and saying our good byes.
On Sunday evening after our going away party at church, we picked the Dynamic Duo up at Camp and hit the road. We needed to get to Elizabethtown, KY that night. Flash and Ollie wore their harnesses and afer just a little bit of whining, settled in for the drive. They did awesome! D and I were both a little surprised at how well they traveled. Prior to leaving, they each got one dramamine pill and one benadryl. I do think this helped considerabl and would do it again in a heartbeat!
Prior to the move, I had done some research and learned that LaQuinta Inn & Suites were extremely pet friendly and had a great pet policy. So, I booked a room in Elizabethtown, KY and Jacksonville, FL. Both hotels were nice and clean, but the Jacksonville area was a little sketchy. We probably wouldn't stay there again!
I was definitely nervous about how the Duo would do in a hotel with all the different smells and noises. Once we got settled in our room the first night, they each got a kong to help them relax.
Ollie wasted no time settling in on the bed. Flash on the other hand, took awhile to settle in. We didn't sleep too well the first night. She would perk up every time she heard a door open and close. We got a couple of decent stretches of sleep, but it was pretty rough.
Day 2 was off to a great start and the Duo settled right in and relaxed. We pretty much only stopped to let them out when we needed gas. They were the ideal travel companions!

I'm still trying to figure out how this is even remotely comfortable! But, he slept this way for a good while.
Our second night in a hotel was much better than the first night. The Duo settled in right away and we all got a great night's sleep. They didn't budge until it was time for breakfast. There was never any barking or whining either!
Ollie loves to ride with the windows down, so once we got into our new hometown, he was in heaven. Here he is welcoming us to our new apartment/condo complex. He seems pleased with our choice
And, he definitely approves of the great Florida air!
All in all, our trip was extremely easy. D and I were both very pleased with how well the Duo traveled. It was actually really enjoyable and the trip went by fast. I am glad to know that the Duo are good travelers so maybe we can do some more traveling with them.

Drury Inns are also really great for traveling with dogs. I think they mostly in the midwest.
Great pics of the pups.
