A New Life

We've been here 10 days and it is already starting to feel like home, though occasionally we have to pinch ourselves to make sure we really live here.  We've had great weather every day and it is easy to forget it is almost the middle of November.

When we got here last Tuesday, we weren't sure when our furniture and other items would arrive. We were able to move into the condo right away and borrowed an air mattress from one of Danny's coworkers. Outside of that and some clothes, we pretty much had nothing. Danny had to be back to work on Wednesday so the Duo and I spent a lot of time together over the following days.

I haven't taken pictures yet of the condo, but we really lucked out.  The couple we are renting from live in Colorado. They were in town last weekend so we got to meet them and they're great. I think they're going to be great landlords.

Directly across from our unit is the community dog park.  Flash and Ollie love to go in there and explore.  I wouldn't say they play or run around much, but they do like to sniff every square inch!  There are a lot of dogs in our complex so it's fun to see them out and about.

Flash and Ollie are slowly settling in.  For the first couple of days, you could tell that they were afraid we weren't going to come home. They get a kong every time we leave and for the first week or so, they went completely nuts when we'd come home. We try to get them quiet and outside as soon as we can so they aren't too much of a disturbance.  It didn't help that when we didn't have our furniture, the sound just echoed off the tile floors.  Earlier this week, I started to notice that they were becoming calmer when I'd get home during the day.  I tried to get out each day for a couple hours to run errands, work out or go down to Lynn to work with Danny's golfers.  I think they're settling in better now and realize that we're coming home.

Our furniture finally arrived on Monday!  It was so nice to have our belongings.  I wish everyone could've seen how happy the Duo were to have their couches back.  I really think that helped them settle in more.  We still have a lot of boxes, but they're hidden in the second bedroom. Hope we don't have any guests anytime soon!!

As usual, Ollie loves to look outside. Now, he just has to do it from the second floor!
